Thurber

Not much is known about Thurber other than the fact that he was a veteran of World War I and that he sustained, for a time, a friendship with a known Boston artist, Richard Upton Pickman. The Thurber Papers, c. 1900-1950 chronicle his research of the North End neighborhood in Boston; notes contained in the collection indicate that Thurber was looking for information related to Pickman's unexplained disappearance in 1926.

Many of the photographs presented in this exhibit were taken by Thurber; the provenance of other photographs is unknown.
